Det er strikket i Blackhill H\u00f8jlandsuld, men der vil selvf\u00f8lgelig v\u00e6re mulighed for at bruge andre garntyper. Dog skal man v\u00e6re opm\u00e6rksom p\u00e5 at sjalet er strikket temmelig l\u00f8st, og garn af rent uld vil v\u00e6re mest velegnet.
